My name is Samallie Nabbosa Kristensen. I was born in Uganda on 26 July 1973. I grew up under Idi Amin, went to Mukono Primary School and Kololo High School in Kampala, and later built a new life in Denmark.

Four years ago I left a big factory where I worked as a plastics maker — thermoforming thermostats that keep homes warm. I started a new chapter as a full-time social worker. Caring for people is part of who I am, but I also needed to care for myself.

I am a mother of four. I love my children, my garden, my dog, travelling, discovering cultures, meeting new people and tasting different foods. I recently went to Lisbon for the Gather & Grow event — a beautiful business tour that reminded me why I keep growing.

I am also a recording artist known as Samexx (and previously Samallie Holm). My music blends Afro-pop, zouk, R&B and gospel. I sing in Luganda, Swahili and English. Tracks like Love Mountain, Celebrate and Kilila Mpola Mpola carry pieces of my story.
